You bet I dance!
Film Description: In 2019, a dance workshop for children with cerebral palsy will take place for the first time in Germany, more precisely at the Staatsballett Berlin. Leonie and Hannah, two girls with very different manifestations of this early childhood brain injury, embark on their first big dance adventure together with eight other children. But what is possible for children with physical and sometimes also cognitive restrictions? And then at one of the best dance theaters in the world – the Staatsballett Berlin? The children give an impressive answer. They dance. In their own special way.
Director Biography: Lars was born in 1971 in Duesseldorf, Germany. After finishing school in 1992 he studied acting in Freiburg and worked as a well known actor in several tv- shows and movies. In 2000, Lars lost his mother to ALS and made his first own movie about the disease. 2006 his first feature documentary (directed, written an produced) was invited to the “56th berlinale”, the International Film Festival of Berlin. In 2011 he and his partner & old friend Holger Schuermann founded the Production Company „PS Film / Pape & Schuermann”, based in Berlin. In 2013, they broke the German crowdfunding record for their film “the legends of Fortuna” and won the most important prize for movies about football, “the golden 11”. Larss last movie, AllLoveSchmidt, was shown at many festivals all over the world and won several awards.
