KP Club December Screening

Event Information

See the KP Club December screening of Talvisota (Winter War) on Sunday December 1, 2019.
This films runs from 1:30pm – 5:00pm and includes an opening presentation by Dr. Kari Alenius (Lakehead University Chair of Finnish Studies).

Admission fee is $10 or by donation with a coffee break halfway through and complimentary pulla provided as well!

Talvisota is in Finnish language with English subtitles.

Talvisota Film Description

The Winter War (original title in Finnish: Talvisota) is a 1989 Finnish war film directed by Pekka Parikka, based on The Winter War, a novel by Antti Tuuri. It tells the story of a Finnish infantry regiment “JR 23”, which consists almost solely of men from Southern Ostrobothnia, focusing mainly on a platoon of reservists from Kauhava. The film was released in Finland and Sweden on the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Winter War.

KP Club Screening

The KP Club (Keskipohjalaisten Kerho) holds monthly film screenings at Trinity Hall on the last Sunday of each month usually. Entry is always $10 or by donation. Film screenings usually begin at 2pm and run until 4pm with coffee and pulla provided.

Venue Information

Trinity Hall is located at 310 Park Avenue at the corner of Algoma St.  The venue features a 24 foot projection screen along with a complete BOSE sound system.
The venue includes an accessible entrance way from the parking lot along with a main entrance with a few stairs on Park Avenue.
Trinity Hall is home to Vox Popular Media Arts which can be contacted for any information about venue, bookings, events, or more.
